Entry Level Systems Test Engineer Job Description

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities

1.Develop engines to meet emissions legislation, while providing the customer with the best-in-class performance, fuel economy, drivability, and power.

2.Make sound decisions in pushing the mechanical stress and design limits of the engine components to achieve best performance.

3.Conduct test cell and vehicle experiments to determine hardware, software and calibration specifications that best meet the technical performance requirements of the project.

4.Document results in technical reports.

5.Use current methods of acquiring and analyzing test data while finding ways to improve both processes

6.Analyze, report, and act on test information

7.Troubleshoot engine, test cell, and vehicle performance problems with technicians and facility experts

8.Participate in team engine performance and calibration design reviews

9.Provide support to other Value Package Introduction (VPI) and Current Product Support (CPS) development teams on performance related issues

10.Conduct Emissions transparency tests as required for all current product changes. This includes reviewing all product changes for potential impact and recommending appropriate testing.

11.Provide support for Internal Emissions audit failures by determining an appropriate course of action including conducting additional CVS tests.

12.Manage responsible test cell(s), vehicle(s) and technician(s)

Requirements:

Education:

1.Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (with thermal focus). Masters’ degree preferred.

Skills:

1.Engine and/or after treatment knowledge and experience (required)

2.Good oral /written communication skills and the ability to work with others with diverse backgrounds in a team environment (Required)

3.Ability to lead, mentor or guide small teams as well as speak out, set direction and draw others to follow your lead (Required)

4.Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Matlab, and Unix (Required)

5.Experience with Matlab, Diadem, Minitab, GT Power, High Speed Data Acquisition, Asset, and Scope

6.Understanding of complex performance and emissions tradeoffs

7.Strong process development skills and commitment to using and improving existing processes

8.Couple experimental performance development test results with analysis, focus on analysis led design approach

9.Commitment to driving quality into all aspects of work, CPE and other. Embrace Six Sigma techniques/tools

10.Knowledge/experience of engine control systems, engine after-treatment systems and engine systems simulations

11.Ability to manage test cell and vehicle activities including technician interface (Preferred)

PART TIME ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT JOBS DESCRIPTION

Downtown company is seeking to add a part time Accounting Assistant to its finance team. Job duties will include billing, collections, coding and entering accounts payable invoices, review of expense reimbursements, entering new employees information, review time sheets for accuracy, assist office manager as needed in completing payroll for processing, assist new employees in completion of all benefit enrollment forms, maintain monthly statistics schedules, assist with reconciliation of the bank account and monthly financial statements by reconciling credit cards and other analysis, spreadsheet work as requested. Ideal candidate will have 2 – 5 years related experience.  Must be extremely proficient in Excel as will have to do worksheet formatting, basic formulas and charts. Work is varied and fast paced so the work day goes by fast! Need to be very professional with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have a strong work ethic, be detail oriented and good at multitasking.  Position is 3 days a week initially with the potential to develop into full time in the future.
